New Compound Bows for 2011

The ATA Show is a place for archery companies to announce new products for the coming year and to take orders for their products.  The compound bow manufactures generate much of the fanfare around these new product introductions.  With their elaborate booths and shooting lanes for attendees to try out the latest and greatest they have to offer, the compound bow manufactures are the main attractions for the ATA show. Below is a quick look at the new bows that will be available for 2011.

New Breed Archery

TalkHunting sponsor New Breed Archery introduced 2 new compound bows for 2011, The Eclipse and Double Helix.  While specification for both bows are still not finalized, we were able to get some preliminary numbers for at least the Eclipse. The will have an axle to axle length of around 35", with a brace height around 6.75" to 7". IBO speeds are expected to be around 335 fps, with a bow weight of 4.2 lbs to 4.6 lbs. The Eclipse will be outfitted with the new Bionix 2.0 cams. The Double Helix will be a shoot through riser design, that can be fitted for either right or left handed shooters. No specification were available for the Double Helix at this time, but rest assured that we will keep our eyes and ears out for any new information on these new offerings from New Breed.

Bowtech

Bowtech's big announcement for the ATA show was the unveiling of the new Assassin CPX bow.  It includes all the best features offered by Bowtech, such as HardCore Limbs, OverDrive Binary cam system and FLXGuard cable containment.  In addition to those features, Bowtech also introduces it's new Center Pivot Extreme (CPX) technology.  An improvement to their Center Pivot technology, the limbs are mounted on a deflex riser, placing the pivot point approximately in the center of the limb.  This helps to prevent torquing of the bow, which makes the bow deadly accurate.  The new Assassin bow has a 31 1/32" axle to axle length, a 7" brace height, and weighs in at just 3.9 lbs. The Assassin offers 50, 60, 70, and 80 pound limbs, with draw lengths from 26" to 30", and an IBO speed of 343 fps. 

Diamond Archery

Diamond has a triple threat of new bows for 2011, the Dead Eye, the Fugitive, and the Outlaw.  All three bows are equipped with the new, patent pending Throttle Cams, giving the bows a smooth draw and blazing speeds.  These new bows also boast the FLX-Guard cable guards to reduce torque and Center-Lock limb pockets to ensure accuracy and precision.  Diamond Archery is also offering these new bows with the  R.A.K. (Ready, Aim, Kill) Equipped System.  Allowing the user the available to shoot the bow straight out of the box. The R.A.K. system bows are equipped with TruGlo sights, Hostage Rests, Ultra-Lite Quivers, Comfort Wrist Slings, Alloy Peep, and Octane stabilizers.  The Dead Eye will offer an axle to axle length of 32", a brace height of 6 1/8", and a draw length of 26" to 30".  The Dead Eye has blazing fast IBO speed of 343 fps, and is available in 60 and 70 pound limbs.  The Fugitive will offer an axle to axle length of 32", a brace height of 6 1/2", and a draw length of 26" to 30".  The Fugitive has smoking fast IBO speed of 337 fps, and is available in 50, 60, and 70 pound limbs.  The Outlaw will offer an axle to axle length of 32", a brace height of 7 ", and a draw length of 26.5" to 30.5". The Outlaw has super fast IBO speed of 330 fps, and is available in 50, 60, and 70 pound limbs. 

Quest by G5

Quest introduced two new bows for 2011 at the ATA show.  The first is the Rev which offers a new patent pending Twin Track SYNC module cam system and I-Glide Cable System. The Rev has an axle to axle length of 32" and a brace height of 7 5/8".  The Rev offers limbs from 40 to 70 pounds and draw lengths from 27" to 30.5".  The Rev weighs in at a mere 3.9 lbs and boasts a 324 fps IBO speed.  Also new for 2011 is the Torch which is designed for the smaller frame shooter, children and women.  The Torch has an axle to axle length of 33" and a brace height of 6".  The Torch has a draw weight of 30 to 45 pounds and is available in 24" to 28" draw lengths..

Prime by G5

Prime is a new premium line of bows from G5.  Prime introduced this brand new line with two models, the Prime Centroid and the Prime Shift.  Both models are forged from 7000 series aluminum, which is twice as strong as 6061 T6 aluminum which is used by most other bow manufactures.  Both are also equipped with a flexible titanium cable guard system, which reduces cam lean by 25% by reducing side load on cables during draw.  Prime bows feature the highest level of Quality Assurance in the bow industry with their 100 Cycle Assurance.  However the most innovative feature of the new Prime bows is the patent pending Parallel Cam system that conquers cam lean giving you a shooting experience unlike any other.  The Prime Centroid has 34.25" axle to axle length and 7.25" brace height.  It is available in a 27" to 31" draw length with either 50 lbs, 60 lbs, or 70 lbs.  It has an IBO speed of 332 fps.  The Prime Shift has 30" axle to axle length and 7.25" brace height.  It is available in a 26" to 30" draw length with either 50 lbs, 60 lbs, or 70 lbs.  It clocks in with an IBO speed of 332 fps. 

ROSS

For 2011 ROSS is introducing the all new CRAVE.  With new management and a few familiar faces, ROSS is back in Kansas doing what it does best.  The CRAVE features a fully-machined 6061 T6 aluminum riser, dual locking limb pockets, and a 2 track dual sync cam system.  It also includes ABEC 5 sealed bearings, a broadhead guard, and a proprietary anti-vibration system.  The CRAVE is available in configurations, a 33.5" axle to axle, a 31.5"  axle to axle, and a 31.5"  axle to axle ladies model.  All have a 6.5" brace height, and an IBO speed of 335 fps.  The 33.5" ATA model weighs in at 4 lbs, while the 31.5" ATA models has a weight of 3.8 lbs.  The 33.5" ATA and standard 31.5" ATA models are available in 50, 60, and 70 lbs limbs, while the ladies model is available in 50 and 60 lbs limbs.  The ladies model is also available with pink ROSS decals and Winner's Choice pink and black strings.  The 33.5" model has a draw length of 27" to 31", while the 31.5" models has a 26" to 30" draw length. 

Hoyt

Hoyt starts out 2011 with 7 new and enhanced bows in it's line up.  The flagship bow, the Carbon Element employs a radical patent-pending hollow tube riser design, giving the bow a light 3.6 lbs weight.  The Carbon Element has a 32" axle to axle length, with a 7" brace height, and an IBO speed of 323 fps.  The Carbon Element is available with 40 lbs to 80 lbs limbs. The Carbon Matrix Plus sports a similar hollow tube design, but with a longer 35" axle to axle length.  The Carbon Matrix Plus has a brace height of 7.25" and weighs 3.8 lbs.  The Carbon Matrix Plus can be configured with 40 lbs to 80 lbs limbs, with an IBO speed of 318 fps.  The CRX is built upon the sleekest, leanest TEC LITE rise to ever come out of Hoyt.  The CRX is available in both a 32" axle to axle model, as well as a 35" axle to axle model.  Both CRX models have a 7" brace height, and are available with 40 lbs to 90 lbs limbs.  The CRX 32 weighs in at 3.95 lbs, with an IBO of 323 fsp, while the CRX 35 weigh 4.2 lbs and has an IBO of 318 fps.  The Rampage and Rampage XT provide top dollar performance at an affordable price.  The Rampage features the new ZRS 12 split limbs and the M4 cams, while the XT sports the XTS PRO ARC limbs along with the Fuel Cams.  The Rampage XT has a 32" axle to axle length, while the Rampage has a 34" axle to axle length.  Both models have a 7" brace height.  The Rampage XT has an IBO speed of 323 fps, with a weight of 4 lbs, and is available in 40 lbs to 80 lbs limbs.  The Rampage has an IBO speed of 306 fps, with a weight of 4.2 lbs, and is available in 30 lbs to 70 lbs limbs.  The ProHawk is another terrific money saving bow featuring the legendary TEC Riser, parallel split limbs, and a proven Cam & 1/2 technology.  The ProHawk has a 32" axle to axle length, a 7.25" brace height, and weighs 4.0 lbs.  The ProHawk is available in 20 lbs to 60 lbs, and has an IBO speed of 305 fps.  The Ruckus is Hoyt's performance drive youth bow, loaded with technology.  The Ruckus has a 29.75" axle to axle, with a 6.75" brace height, and a weight of 2.8 lbs.  With 10 lbs to 50 lbs limbs the Ruckus can grow with the shooter.  The Ruckus has an IBO of 281 fps, and features a full 10" of custom draw length, allowing draw lengths from 18" to 28".  The Vantage Elite Plus is Hoyt's most accomplished target bow ever.  The Vantage Elite Plus feature a Shoot-Thru riser, along with airtight PRO-LOCK pocket system, and Hoyt's proven XT 2000 limbs.  The Vantage Elite Plus is available in three different Cam and 1/2 configurations: the GTX Cam and 1/2 (40.5" axle to axle, 309 fps, 8.125" brace height), the Plus Cam and 1/2 (40.25" axle to axle, 308 fps, 8" brace height) , and the Spiral X Cam and 1/2 (40.375" axle to axle, 315 fps, 7.75" brace height). All three of the Vantage Elite Plus models has a weight of 4.8 lbs, and is available with 30 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The Alpha Elite is incorporates a Shoot-Thru design along with a a long riser and parallel split limbs. The Alpha Elite has 36" axle to axle length, and a 7" brace height. The Alpha Elite has an IBO of 320 fps, and a weight of 4.4 lbs. The Alpha Elite is available in 30 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The Contender Elite is Hoyt's best in class target bow, and is available in a either a 38" model with the XT 2000 limbs or a 41" model with the XT 3000 limbs. The Contender Elite is also available in either a standard riser or a Shoot-Thru riser. The 38" model have a weight of 4.6 lbs, while the 41" model weigh in slightly heavier at 4.8 lbs. Each of the two Contender Elite models are available with either the GTX Cam and 1/2 (38" - 313 fps, 7.125" brace height, 41" - 303 fps, 7.75" brace height), the standard Cam and 1/2 (38" - 308 fps, 7.125" brace height, 41" - 301 fps, 7.75" brace height), or the Spiral X Cam and 1/2 (38" - 315 fps, 6.625" brace height, 41" - 310 fps, 7.375" brace height).

PSE

PSE introduced more than a dozen and a half new or updated bows in their line up. Among the improvement made by PSE this year are the new patent pending 4G limbs, Centerlock Limb Pockets, new Raptor grip handles. Leading off PSE lineup of bows is the X-Force Omen Pro. The X-Force Omen Pro has a 33.625" axl to axle length, a 5.5" brace height, and weighs in at 4.35 lbs. The X-Force Omen Pro shoots a blazing 366 fps IBO speed, making one of the fastest bows ever. The is available in 50 lbs to 80 lbs limbs, and draw lengths from 26" to 30". The Dream Season EVO has a 32.5" axle to axle length, a 6" brace height and weight of 4.4 lbs. The EVO can be configured in 25" to 30" draw lengths with 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The EVO launches arrow at 345 fps IBO. The AXE 7/6 share many of the same specifications, such as the 32.5" axle to axle, the 26.6" to 31" draw length, and the 50 lbs to 70 lbs limb choices. The main difference between the AXE 6 and the AXE 7 is the brace height. The AXE 6 has a 6" brace height, while the the AXE 7 has a 7" brace height. The AXE has a weight of 4.2 lbs and an IBO speed of 335 fps, while the AXE 7 weighs 4.25 lbs and shoots a 345 fps IBO. The X-Force Vendetta XL measures a 35" axle to axle length, with a 7.25" brace height. The X-Force Vendetta XL has a weight of 4.4 lbs and an IBO of 328 fps. THe X-Force Vendetta XL allows for 26.5" to 32" draw length and is available in 50 lbs to 70 lbs. The X-Force Vendetta XS provide a small riser than the Vendetta XL, measuring just 29.5" axle to axle, with a brace of 6.5". The X-Force Vendetta XS weighs in at 3.95 lbs and shoots an IBO of 330 fps. The X-Force Vendetta XS allos for a 24.5" to 30" brace height, and can be configured with 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The Dominator Pro series bow features PSE's new shoot through riser, which can be setup for either right or left handed archers. The Dominator Pro is available in a hybrid cam configuration as well as the one cam configuration. The hybrid cam model has a 40" axle to axle, 7.5" brace height and weighs 4.8 lbs, while the one cam model has a 40.5" axle to axle, 7.25" brace height and weighs 4.75 lbs. The hybrid cam model shoots a 319 fps IBO, while the one cam model shoots a 310 fps IBO. Both model are available in a 26" to 30.5" draw length with 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The Money Make X is available in a hybrid cam configuration as well as the one cam configuration. The Money Make X hybrid cam model has a 40" axle to axle, 8" brace height and weighs 4.7 lbs, while the one cam model has a 40.5" axle to axle, 7.75" brace height and weighs 4.65 lbs. The hybrid cam model shoots a 314 fps IBO, while the one cam model shoots a 305 fps IBO. Both model are available in a 26.5" to 31" draw length with 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The Supra One Cam has an axle to axle length of 38", a 7" brace height, and weighs in at 4.5 lbs. The Supra One Cam is available in 26" to 31" draw lengths with 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs, and shoots a 318 fps IBO. The Bow Madness XL is PSE's fastest single cam ever, with an IBO speed of 340 fps. The Bow Madness XL has an axle to axle length of 36", a brace height of 6", and weight of 4.4 lbs. The Bow Madness has an axle to axle length of 32", a brace height of 7", and weight of 3.85 lbs. The Bow Madness has an IBO speed of 331 fps. The Bow Madness XS has an axle to axle length of 29.25", a brace height of 8", and weight of 4.2 lbs. The Bow Madness XS has an IBO speed of 320 fps. All of the Bow Madness models offer a draw length of 25" to 30", and limbs are available in 50 lbs to 70 lbs, except for the Bow Madness XS which also offes a 40 lbs limb. The Brute HP is one of PSE's value line of bow. It is available either by itself or in ready to shoot packages. The Brute HP has a 33.5" axle to axle, with a 7" brace height,and weighs 4.2 lbs. The Brute HP has an IBO speed of 320 fps, and is available in 60 lbs and 70 lbs limbs. The Brute HP can be set for 25" to 30 " draw lengths. The Stinger HP is another of the PSE line up with can be bought as is or pre-configured. The Stinger HP has an axle to axle length of 30.75", a 7.5" brace height, and weigh in at 4.15 lbs. The Stinger HP can be set at 25" to 30" draw lengths, and is available in 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The Stinger HP is capable of a 316 fps IBO speed. The Chaos FC is designed with small frame archers in mind. The Chaos FC has an axle to axle length of 32", a brace height of 6.25" and weighs in at 3.2 lbs. The Chaos FC can be set with a draw of 16" to 27", and has limbs available in 29 lbs, 40 lbs, 50 lbs and 60 lbs, The Chaos FC shoots a 284 IBO @27" using 60 lbs limbs. The Mini Burner is PSE's youth bow for 2011. It offers a 26.5" axle to axle length, with a 7" brace height, and weighs just 2.5 lbs. The Mini Burner has a 16" to 26" draw length and is available in 20 lbs, 29 lbs, and 40 lbs limbs. The Mini Burner IBOs at 261 with a 26" draw. For the bow fisherman, PSE introduces the Nova Bowfishing bow. The Nova has an axle to axle of 32.75", a brace height of 7.625", and weigh 3.8 lbs. It offers draw lengths up to 31" and has a peak weigh of 35 lbs and 45 lbs.

Martin

Martin had many new feature that you will find on it's 2011 series of bows, including the Nitro and Accu-Trak cams, Hammer Head Strings, the SOS (String Oscillation Suppressor), the TRG (Torque Reducing Guard), and the Patented VEM (Vibration Escape Module) to name a few. First in Martin's line up is the Firecat 400, with a 32" axle to axle, 7" brace height, and a weight of 3.7 lbs. The Firecat 400 has an IBO of 335 fps, and can be configured with draw lengths of 27" to 30". The Firecat 400 is available in 50 lbs, 60 lbs, and 70 lbs limbs. The Firecat 360 is a 315 fps IBO bow, with a 32" axle to axle length, 7.2" brace height, and a weight of 3.7 lbs. The Firecat 360 can be configured for 26" to 31" draw lengths and is available in 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The Gold Series Onza 3 has a axle to axle of 33.25", with a brace height of 7.25", and a weight of 4 lbs. The Onza 3 has a 27.5" to 30.5" adjustable draw length and is available in 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The Gold Series Silencer was built for speed with it's 345 fps IBO. The Silencer offers a 32" axle to axle length, with a 7" brace height, and a weight of 3.5 lbs. The Silencer can be adjusted for a 27" to 30" draw length and is available in 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The new Ridge Hunter has an axle to axle length of 32", with a brace height of 7.2", and a weight of 3.7 lbs. The Ridge Hunter has a 26" to 31" configurable draw length and can be outfitted with 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The Exile provides a compact bow, yet high performance bow. The Exile has a 30.25" axle to axle length, and a 7.25" brace height, and a weight of 3.4 pounds.The Exile is adjustable in a 25" to 30" draw length, with limbs available in 50 lbs to 70 lbs.

Elite Archery

Elite archery starts out 2011 with a renewed commitment to their "Elite Promise". The Pulse has an axle to axle of 34.125", a brace height of 6" and a weight of 4.3 lbs. The Pulse has an IBO speed of 342 fps. The Pulse can be configured with a 26" to 30" draw length and 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. If you are a year around archer, then the Pure is your bow. With it's 36" axle to axle, 7" brace height, and 4.1 lbs weight, the Pure is just as comfortable on the range as it is in the woods. The Pure producing a fast 343 fps IBO speed, and can be configured with a 27.5" to 31.5" draw length. The Pure can be setup with either 50 lbs, 60 lbs, 70 lbs, or 80 lbs limbs. Last but not least in the Elite line up is the Tour. The Tour is built for accuracy and forgiveness. The tour has a 38" axle to axle length, 7.875" brace height, and a weight of 4.1 lbs. The Tour has a 27" to 32" draw length, and can be configured with 50 lbs, 60 lbs or 70 lbs limbs. The Tour is capable of producing a 328 fps IBO speed.

Ben Pearson

The Stealth II represents Pearson's most technically advanced bow to date. The Stealth II uses the new light weight Steath cam, which gives the both a smooth draw, a comfortable let off and a rock solid wall. Another new feature of the Stealth II is the new two piece X1 limb pocket, which provide consistent stability. TO complete the Stealth II, all of this is then mounted on torque free riser which make the Stealth II fast, quiet and "Built for Bone" The Stealth II has a 32" axle to axle length, with a 6.25" brace height, and weighs in at 4.5 lbs. THe Stealth II is available in 50 lbs, 60 lbs, and 70 lbs limbs, and can be configured with a 25.5" to 30.5" draw length. The Slealth II is capable of producing a 340+ IBO speed.

Alpine Archery

Alpine's 2011 line of bows offer light risers, and innovative pocket system, and high performance cams.  The F1 Fireball hunting bow clocks in at a fast 337 fps, with an axle to axle length of 337 fps. The Fireball has a brace height of 6.125" and a weight of 4.2 lbs. The Fireball is adjustable from 27" to 30", and offers limbs in 60 lbs and 70 lbs. The Alpine Blush is built with the ladies in mind. The Blush has a 30" axle to axle length, with a 6.25" brace height and a weigh of 3.5 lbs. It is available in 40 lbs and 50 lbs limbs and an adjustable draw length of 24" to 27". The Blush has an IBO of 290 fps using a 27" draw. For the bowfishing enthusiast, Alpine offers the Alpine Mako. The Mako has a 30.75" and weighs a mere 3 lbs. The Mako sports has a 6.5" brace height, and has an adjustable 24" to 30" draw length. The Mako is available in 50 lbs and 60 lbs limbs. The Concorde and Concorde Infinity are offer an axle to axle length of 40", with a brace height of 8.125" and a weight of 4.6 lbs. The Concorde and Concorde Infinity are both configurable with a 27" to 31" draw length, and  IBO of 315 fps. The Concorde offers limbs in 50 lbs and 60 lbs, while the Concorde Infinity offers 60 lbs and 70 lbs limbs. The Frenzy and Frenzy Target target are Alpine entry level bows, The Frenzy series has a 30.75" axle to axle, with a 6.5" brace height, and a weight of 3 lbs. The Frenzy has an adjustable draw length of 24" to 30" and is offered with a 60 lbs limb. The Ruckus and Ruckus Pink is built for the serious teen archer. The Ruckus has a 30.75" axle to axle, with a 6.5" brace height, and a weight of 3 lbs. The Frenzy has an adjustable draw length of 22" to 28" and is offered with a 50 lbs limb. The Lil Guff is Alpine's youth bow, built to target shooter from the age of 5 to 12. The Lil Guff has an axle to axle length of 28", with a brace height of 6", and a weight of 2.5 lbs. The Lil Guff has an adjustable draw length of 17" to 23", and an 10 lbs to 35 lbs adjustable draw weight.

Athens Archery

Athens introduced 3 new models for 2011. The Ibex, the Afflixtion, and the Excell. The Ibex and the Affliction are designed as hunting bows, where the Excell has target shooter in mind. The Ibex and Afflixtion both use laminated limbs, EV2X extreme velocity duo cams, and Bowjax dampening system. Both also include sealed ball bearings, rear pivot pocket limbs, and the Sick string system. The Ibex has a 30" axle to axle, a 7" brace height, and weighs in at a mere 3.6 lbs. It is available in 40 to 70 pound limbs, and has an IBO speed of 335+ fps. The Ibex has draw length specific cams that offer a 24.5" to 29.5" draw length. The Afflixtion has a 35" axle to axle length, a 6.5" brace height, and weighs in at 4.3 pounds, It is also available in 40 to 70 pound limbs, and has an IBO speed of 337+ fps. The Afflixtion has a 25" to 30" draw length with draw length specific cams. The Exell features exposed E-glass laminated limbs, EV2S extreme velocity duo cams, the Sick string system. The Exell has a 41" axle to axle length, an 8" brace height, and an IBO speed of 310+ fps. The Excell also has draw length specific cams that offer a 27" to 33" draw length. The Excell is available in 40 to 70 lbs limbs.

Parker

Parker open up 2011 with several new bow offerings. Opening up the line up is the Ambusher. The Ambusher is geared toward the ground blind hunter, with a short axle to axle length of 28". The Ambusher has a brace height of 7.5", and an IBO speed of 320 fps. The Ambusher has adjustable draw lengths from 27" to 30", and offers draw weights from 50 lbs to 70 lbs. The Ambusher weighs in at 3.4 lbs. The BlackHawk EZ Draw target hunters look for an easier to draw bow. The BlackHawk use an EZ Draw Cam, make one of the smoothest drawing bows in the industry. The BlackHawk has an axle to axle length of 32", with a brace height of 7.375", and a weight of 3.85 lbs. The BlackHawk offers draw lengths from 25" to 30", and draw weights from 50 lbs to 70 lbs. The BlackHawk offers an IBO speed of 290 fps. The Inferno has an axle to axle length of 30.375", with a brace height of 7.5", and weight of  3.75 lbs. The Inferno offer draw weight from 50 lbs to 70 lbs, draw lengths from 26" to 31", and an IBO speed of 320 fps. The Wildfire Extreme has a 31.75 axle to axle length, along with a brace height of 7.75", and a weight of 3.65 lbs. The Wildfire Extreme offers draw lengths in the range of 26" to 31", and draw weights from 50 lbs to 70 lbs. The Wildfire Extreme has an IBO of 310 fps. The Blazer is Parker's economical bow offering, providing performance at an extreme value. The Blazer has a 32.5 axle to axle length, along with a brace height of 7.75", and a weight of 3.85 lbs. The Blazer has draw lengths in the range of 26" to 31", and draw weights from 45 lbs to 70 lbs. The Sidekick Extreme is Parker's youth and ladies (Sidekick Extreme Pink) bow. The Sidekick Extreme has a axle to axle length of 31", with a brace height of 7.625", and a weight of 3.25 lbs. Draw lengths for the Sidekick Extreme range from 18" to 28", and provides draw weights of 20 lbs to 60 lbs. The Buckshot Extreme is designed for the smallest hunters. The Buckshot Extreme has an axle to axle length of 28" with a brace height of 6.5" and a weight of 2.75 lbs. Draw lengths span the range of 17" to 26", with draw weights from 15 lbs to 45 lbs.

Strothers Archery

Strothers Archery's new entries for 2011 include the SX-1 and the Allure. The SX-1 is outfitted with the patent pending Hyper-S cam system, which delivers speed while having unmatched efficiency in it's draw cycle. The SX-1 has a 34 1/16" axle to axle length, 6.5" brace height, and weighs 4.1 lbs. Draw weights are available in 50lbs to 80 lbs configuration, with draw lengths from 26" to 30", and an IBO speed of 347 fps. The Allure is geared toward female archers. Strothers' hybrid cam system allow the Allure to achieve speeds and energy comparable to bows of heavier poundage. The Allure has a 33 5/8" axle to axle with a 6 1/16" brace height. The draw weights are available in 40 lbs, 50 lbs, and 60 lbs configurations. Draw lengths can be set from 24" to 26", with an IBO speed up 296 fps. The Allure comes in an all black configuration with pink accents and a set of pink/black Stage 1 Strings.

Winchester

So what was not new at the Winchester booth this year? Nothing!! Winchester has thrown it's hat into the archery ring for 2011, and introduced 6 brand new bows to start off it's new archery line. First up is the Quicksilver 34. The Quicksilver 34 a 34" axle to axle length, with a brace height of 7", and a weight of 3.9 lbs. The Quicksilver 34 offers draw lengths from 27" to 30", and limb configuration from 50 lbs to 70 lbs. The Quicksilver 34 IBOs at 343 fps. The Quicksilver 31 shares the same draw weights and draw lengths as the Quicksilver 34, but has a shorter axle to axle length of 31", and weighs in slightly lighter at 3.8 lbs. The Quicksilver 31 has a brace height of 7.25" and an IBO of 335 fps. The Vaquero has and axle to axle length of 32", with a brace height of 7.25", and a weight of 4.1 lbs. The Vaquero has an adjustable draw length of 27" to 30 " and is available in 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs, with an IBO of 317 fps. The Tracker is Winchesters shortest axle to axle bow, ay 31.25". The Tracker has a brace height of 7.25" and weighs in at 4 lbs. The Tracker can be set for 27" to 30" draw length, and can be ordered with 50 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The ThunderBolt is Winchester's your offering. The Thunderbolt has an axle to axle length of 31.5" and a brace height of 7.375". The Thunderbolt weighs in at mere 2.56 lbs. The Thunderbolt offer draw lengths from 17" to 28", with draw weights from 15 lbs to 52 lbs, with speeds up to 290 fps at a draw length of 28". For the lady hunters, Winchester offer the Destiny bow. This bow shares the same specs as the Thunderbolt, but is offered in a RealTree Hardwoods Pink camo.

Darton Archery

Darton Archery introduce several new bows built in it's patented Dual Sync design. First in the new bow line up is the DS-3800. The DS-3800 offers a 33.8125" axle to axle length, with a 6" brace height, and a weight of 4.1 lbs. The DS-3800 is available in 25" to 31" draw lengths and is configurable with 40 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. The DS-3800 IBOs at 350 fps. The DS-3800SD is a spin off of the DS-3800, but is built for shorter draw lengths. The DS-3800SD has the same axle to axle length, brace height, and weight as the DS-3800, but is available with 23" - 27" draw lengths. Just like the DS-3800 the DS-3800SD offers the same 40 lbs to 70 lbs limbs. No IBO speed was specified for the DS-3800SD. The DS-4500 has a longer 38.5" axle to axle length, with a 7.5" brace height, and a weight of 4.0 lbs. The DS-4500 has a draw length range of 27" to 32", with limbs available in 40 lbs to 70 lbs. The DS-4500 has and IBO speed of 320 fps. The DS-2800 is a high performance at a lower price. The DS-2800 has a 31.25" axle to axle length, with a 7" brace height and a weight of 3.9 lbs. The DS-2800 is available in 40 lbs to 70 lbs limbs with draw lengths ranging from 25" to 30", and an IBO of 335 fps. The DS-600 is Darton's entry level bow, with an axle to axle length of 31.375" and a brace height of 7.5". Draw length can be set from 25" to 30", with limb configuration form 40 lbs to 70 lbs. The DS-600 weighs in at 4 lbs and has an IBO of 310 fps. Finally, Darton has design a bow for bow fishing. The Aquaforce has a 33.5" axle to axle length, with a 7.5" brace height and a weigh of just 3.4 lbs. The Aquaforce supports draw lengths from 23" to 29.5", and offers draw weights from 45 lbs to 55 lbs.

TalkHunting Pro Staff Director, Denny "Bugfixer" Chambers, of Summerdale, Alabama, was introduced to hunting at age six by his father. He began hunting small game and gradually moved up to whitetail deer and turkeys.

Denny has many years of experience hunting whitetail in the thick woods of Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. He just recently started chasing the elusive Eastern Turkey that Alabama is known for, and he harvested his first gobbler during the 2009 spring season. Denny is currently working on becoming an accomplished turkey caller.

Denny is currently the camp leader for Scotland Ridge Hunting Club - East Camp, located in Tunnel Springs, Alabama. Denny along with other club members manage a 1340 acre hunting lease, maintaining 17 food plots for deer and 9 food plots for turkeys.

Outside of hunting, Denny is an Army veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Denny also has a Computer Engineering degree from Auburn University, and currently works as a software engineer. Denny has been married to his wife Samantha for over 10 years, and is a father of 4 children, three girls and boy, who all share in his love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
