Real Avid - Real Cool!

At every outdoor show I have ever attended, I always seem to find an exhibitor that has a product line that just strikes me as “Real Cool”. These are usually not the biggest companies with the fanciest displays. They generally are a company, built by a hunter, that has come up with an idea to make our job as hunters an easier one. These rare finds are always exciting and I look forward to finding them at each show I attend. However, the ATA show was so filled with the best of the best and such wonderful displays I worried I might miss that small gem I so look forward to finding. I worried for nothing as I found it almost right away. When I walked up to the “Real Avid” booth, I knew I had found my “Way Cool”.

Real Avid has a long list of products but the two that “Scratched my itch” was the Toolio and the Revelation Lighted Knife.

The patent pending Revelation knife is designed to make it safer and easier to field dress big game in the dark. Features two water sealed LED bulbs that focus light around the cutting area of the blade. Razor sharp right out of the box. Constructed of performance proven 440 stainless steel. Polished blade cleans up fast. Coated with black titanium nitride for increased surface hardness and corrosion resistance. Handle is coated in soft touch rubber for sure grip. Water sealed, recessed rubber switch. Includes 3 sets of batteries and a limited lifetime warranty.

The Toolio tool is bow tuning reinvented. Throw away those clunky Allen wrenches. Overbuilt to bow tuning torque demands, this smart new ergonomic design takes advantage of the working angle and shape of your hand to make bow tuning fast and easy. Comes with 10 hex wrenches that seat in one of 3 hex drivers. The Allen style bits come with a ball-end so that the 3-way driver can be used 10 degrees off square without loss of grip in ultra tight areas. The 1/4" driver will fit any standard hex bit, so adaptability to other jobs is virtually limitless. Bits are made of ultra tough 50CRV-A tooled steel for long life.

These two products not only turned by head but will be soon turning my wallet as I plan to own both of them. The toolio will fit nicely into my bow case and will make adjusting my bow a lot easier. The Revelation Knife? Well… that’s just real cool…..

  1. Great Knife!

Wow, I see me purchasing this knife in the near future! Thanks for finding this gem and writing about it. I though for sure it would cost more than it does considering the quality and warranty it comes with, awesome! I love knifes and you can never have too many!
