SummerBlast 2011 Charity Auction

It was a beautiful end to a perfect yet hot week of activities at Pennyrile State Park and Resort at Dawson Springs KY.

Friday July 15th 2011 the stage was set for the highlight of the week to raise more money for Benefit 4 Kids and Caleb Gothrup.

As we just finished up getting our belly's full from extra food cooked for the cook off it was time to open our hearts and our wallets for Caleb.

Donations where gathered from sponsors, friends of TalkHunting, TalkHunting members, and from generous people wanting to help, many we have not met... This event was divided into silent auction, draw prizes where attendees could purchase grey, red and blue tickets (You could also get tickets by purchasing a donated item out right) then the main auction where online bids where accepted from TalkHunting members unable to attend.

More Draw Prizes and Auction itemsDonated Auction items

The Auction started right at 7:00 pm with a few smaller items bundled with $100 ticket packs to go for the draw prizes. Robert Householder (Huntmaster) and Labsteve gave an emotional introduction to the purpose of the Charity event and it was all I could do to hold back tears... Do I have $20, $25, $40 - I have $50... Was heard with Luanne Bragg (Beagle Pup) helping out with many hats she wore that night by modeling the items and hawking for bids.

Let the Auction begin! with Beagle Pup and HuntMaster..

Thanks to the 30 day credit plan setup allowed for higher bids than money in our wallets. In the silent auction a special bidder touched me and tickled me to death by watching him keep guard of the special all in one tool kit he had his heart set on... Kyle Chambers won his bid thanks to Dad Denny Chambers (Bugfixer)..

.Sorry Kenster you where out bid on this awesome Decoy

After all auctions and silent auction items where gone it was time for the draw prizes to be drawn for. The auction attendees had laps full of ticket stubs as one after another ticket for awesome prizes, including large gift baskets, a special signed book from Ronnie "Cuz" Strickland and about 20 other great draw prizes. The final item was a BowTech 82nd Airborne Bow which was drawn for using the reverse drawn method of last ticket being the winner. If your ticket was drawn you could buy your ticket back into the bucket but only two times.

Bowtech Bow and Pink Victory Arrows where hot items

The final ticket belonged to Nick Stallings (TNcowboy). It was an awesome night for Benefit 4 Kids and it is not too late to make Donations www.b4k.org. Thanks to Robert for barely hanging on to his voice to compete the auction and very special thanks to Annette and Susan for the behind the scenes taking care of the accounting. Thank you TalkHunting, Many folks that Donated, 3 Blade(President of B4K.org) for allowing Labsteve and his special friend Buck to spend their vacation with us.
