New Breed Nation

New Breed Nation

Are you a part of the New Breed Nation? Until recently, I had to answer no to this question. I wanted to answer yes but just hadn’t quite gotten there yet.

I first saw this bow about a year ago when our very own Justin Moore showed it to me at his house. We were shooting in his backyard, just passing the time, and I asked about the bow he was shooting. I had never heard of New Breed Archery so I was a little skeptical about them. He handed it to me and I was shocked at how light it was and how good it felt in my hand. He let me shoot it that afternoon and needless to say I was very interested in this new bow company.

Later on, Frank Ellis with Team Weekend Dreams worked out a sponsorship deal with NBA and that furthered my interest. This was about the time that TalkHunting was getting the Pro Staff up and going so I contacted the guys at NBA about a deal for us. As a fairly new company, they were getting a lot of requests for sponsorships so our deal didn’t come about quickly or easily. However, I loved this bow and was determined to get into their ear so I kept trying. Meanwhile, we were approached by two other bow companies to work out a deal for our Pro Staff to shoot their bows but I had my heart set on New Breed.

Frank then brought some of these bows to the Southern Campout and many of us got to shoot them. I still firmly believed this was the smoothest bow I have ever drawn or fired. I could not draw anything higher than 63 lbs with my Bowtech (bad shoulder) but here I was drawing 70 lbs like it was nothing with the NBA Genetix. When Denny Chambers (bugfixer) picked up one of Franks NBA bows to shoot in the tournament (his Bowtech had a string problem) and won the tournament with it, I was floored. I renewed my efforts to get a deal with these guys.

At the BuckMasters Expo in Montgomery Alabama, I saw my chance. TalkHunting had a booth there as did New Breed Archery. David Olmstead, one of the people I really needed to talk to, was there but was in and out a lot. He was also very busy as EVERYONE wanted to put their hands on these NBA bows! Later that weekend, I saw him leaving the building to go shoot a bow outside with some of the Team Weekend Dreams guys. I followed….  I caught up with David at his truck, introduced myself and closed a deal for TalkHunting Pro Staff to shoot their bows. Did we get them free? Of course not. But we did get a great deal and have started a relationship with a company that I believe will one day be one of the biggest names in the business.

As the deal came together and the bows started to arrive we all started to get excited but a little nervous as well. I was getting a new bow that had to be setup and tweaked and it was 2 weeks before my opening day of deer season. Not a lot of time…  When my new camo Genetix showed up via UPS I was in heaven. After an immediate trip to Archery Unlimited in Prattville, I was setup and practicing. This bow was incredible! I was very quickly shooting 4 inch groups at 50 yards and was dead smoking on the money at anything under 40. I remembered these bows as being nice but had forgotten just how smooth and balanced they were.

I have just about gone to bow hunting only so the bow that I use is very important to me. I was having a few issues with some tweaking so David invited Denny and I to meet them at their facility in Tallahassee Florida and work on it. We took him up on the invite and spent the day with them there. Because of a last minute problem, David was unable to be there but Steve and the rest of the crew really treated us like kings and helped us learn how to tweak these bows. They were all great people and I really enjoyed meeting them. Good people behind a good company.

Do I recommend these bows? With all of my heart! They are awesome bows and you will find out, as I did, that there really isn’t any better. Tom Boatwright took first place in the BuckMasters Indoor World Championship with a New Breed Archery Cyborg and has been winning and placing in tournaments all over the country this summer and fall. If you are in the market for a bow, please, please consider a New Breed. I can promise you that you wont regret it. But don’t just take my word for it. Ask some of our staffers what they think. You may be surprised what bows they put in the closet to shoot this New Breed….

Well, the bow is ready and so am I. I got to hunt opening day then got sick and haven’t hunted in a few days. I can hear Jack (thats my pet name for my Genetix, Jack the Ripper) calling my name from the front porch of the camphouse. He wants to get turned loose on some Alabama whitetails. I cant do that just yet because of all the coughing but maybe I can appease him with some 3d target shooting this afternoon….

Robert was introduced to hunting by his uncle, Jeff Hendricks, at a very young age. He grew up in the outdoors, hunting and fishing at every opportunity. He started, as most boys do, with hunting squirrels and rabbits but was soon deer hunting with his uncle and thus started a true love for deer hunting. Jeff and Robert were two of a kind and stayed in the woods or on the water as much as possible until his uncles death in 2007.

Robert was introduced to turkey hunting by a close friend, Jerry Golden, and soon developed a passion for hunting this elusive bird. It remains one of his favorite game to hunt.

Robert has branched out of just hunting in Alabama to include states like Iowa, Mississippi and Georgia. He hopes to continue to hunt game in other states in the future. Robert is a veteran of the first Gulf war and served in the USAF for a total of 7 years, including assignments in Germany, Nebraska, Texas and Illinois.

  2. New Breed Archery

I am now part of the New Breed Nation but I took a little different route on getting my Bow. I went the Retail Route on ordering my New Breed Archery Nememis which is the smallest of the NBA lineup. I am starting all over in getting a new Bow after have double shoulder surgery 6 years ago so I choose Archery Unlimted in Prattville Alabama... My only reget is never wait two weeks before Hunting Season to order a bow and have it configured from the ground up.... Otherwise it's the sweetest shooting Bow I have ever owned... Robert I have decided to name my NBA Nemesis "Pearl Marie" after my Late Mother
